Selecting Source Data |
In general, prior to starting the System, you must first run a source proposal using your insurance company's illustration system. If the company is "linked" to InsMark, the most recently linked data will be loaded as your Source Data and a description of that data will be displayed. All linked carriers transfer the data automatically so you do not have to enter it year by year. (See Carrier Link Snap-Ons for more information on linking.) To confirm the year-by-year values, simply click the Review button located in the "Source Data" box. If you wish to use different source data and you have previously stored that data in the InsMark Source Data Storage, click the drop-down arrow for a list of the ten most recent stored source data. Click "more..." to get to the Source Data Storage screen shown below. Click on the desired source data listing, and click the Review button (if necessary) to confirm the detailed policy values.
When you are satisfied you have selected the desired data, click the OK button to return to the New Proposal screen. If you wish to return without picking different source data, click the Cancel button.
If you wish to create new source data, you can do so without closing the InsMark System. Use "Alt-tab" to switch to your carrier software (or to your desktop, then launch your carrier software), or minimize the InsMark System while you switch programs. Run your new carrier proposal, and, if your product is linked, you should find a selection for InsMark which will link you to InsMark. Upon selecting this option, you will see a screen similar to the one shown. Next, click the InsMark icon to switch back to the InsMark System. The SuperLink version of InsMark systems can read data from illustration systems of multiple insurance companies and also allows you to create "user-entered source data." This is a useful feature when you want to illustrate source data from a carrier that has not yet provided the InsMark link. If you do not have SuperLink, call InsMark at 1-888-InsMark (467-6275) for more information. |
